When I asked to the press officier that I wanted to build a photographic set to take portraits of the soldiers and ask them about books, he thought I was joking.

Actually, talking with the soldiers about The Lord of the Rings, the Coran and Horses magazines was the most remarkable experience I did during the week I spent embedded with the Italian Army in Lebanon.

Before coming to Lebanon I read Martyrdom of a Nation by Robert Fisk, it is a book I would recommend to all my colleagues to read. It explains why we are here today. I would have liked to become a scientific researcher to be able to do something great for Humanity, to invent something to be remembered forever. I read ten books per year.

I'm not a believer, I have lost faith before the first communion. If I had not been a soldier maybe I would become a doctor for the NGO Emergency.

My favorite literary character is the protagonist of "Border to Border" a man who cross the U.S. with a horse, and without a penny in the pocket.

If I wasn't a soldier I would like to open a pizzeria abroad, maybe in Mexico.

We are all influenced by marketing and ideologies, we are victims of deceit. It's disconcerting. The book which impressed me the most is "Napoleon and Management". A parallelism between his leadership and the economy. I would have liked to be a teacher.
